| Bulldogs Win on Cantrelle TD Run |

Chase Cantrelle, a Meridian and Western Washington graduate, scored a touchown with 37 seconds on the clock to lift the Bellingham Bulldogs to a 16-12 victory Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Portland Raiders. Cantrelle also scored a touchdown at the end of the first quarter with a 5-yard run to put the Bulldogs up 7-0. In the second quarter, Sean Foster, kicked a field goal to put Bellingham up 10-0. In the third quarter, Portland intercepted a pass by Mark Simmons for a 55-yard touchdown. In the fourth quarter, the Raiders picked up a punt and returned it 75-yards to the Bulldogs' 5-yard line and punched it in for a touchdown five plays later to take the lead 12-10. The Bulldogs got the ball back with 2:47 on the clock and started driving the ball down the field. On a 4th and 10, Mark Simmons hit Jesh Morgan on a slant rout for a 55-yard gain to set up the final score. The Bulldogs racked up 170 yards on the ground and Jesh Morgan led the wide receivers with 88 yards receiving . There were three interceptions by the Bulldogs in the game by Brett Hall, Steve Faro and Jay Zimmerman. Cantrelle was the game's MVP with a total of 77 yds and two touchdowns on offense and four tackles and two sacks on defense. The Bulldogs will play their final regular season home game Saturday, Sept. 26, at Civic Stadium against the Pacific Northwest Wildcats.
